ORGANIC BARLEY PEARL

Organic Pearl Barley has a chewy texture and mild grain flavour. The pearling process removes the outer hull and bran layer of the barley kernel, resulting in a faster-cooking grain that’s slightly less fibrous but still nutritious. It’s a versatile whole grain used in both savory and sweet dishes.
Organic Pearl Barley
To cook Combine ¼ cup rinsed pearl barley with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes, then cover and let stand for 1 hour.
To make barley coffee, spread barley on a pan and toast at 400°F for 1½ hours, stirring every 20 minutes until richly brown. Grind as desired and brew like coffee.
In addition, Pearl barley is great in soups, stews, and salads, or as a side dish alternative to rice or pasta. Leftovers can also be turned into cold grain salads.
