Product Description -: Pot barley has a chewy texture and mild grain flavour. It is harvested with the hull intact and then put through a potting process β€” a light scouring that removes only the outer hull while keeping the bran layer intact, resulting in a hearty and wholesome grain.

Use

To prepare one bowl of pot barley, combine 1 cup of barley and 3 cups of water with a pinch of salt. Boil for 5 minutes, cover, and let stand for 1 hour.

For a roasted barley beverage, toast barley in a pan at 400Β°F for about 1Β½ hours, stirring every 20 minutes until richly browned, then grind to desired consistency.

Pot barley adds texture and depth to soups, stews, and casseroles. It also makes a great side dish in place of rice or pasta, and leftover barley can be enjoyed cold in salads with vinaigrette or paired with roasted vegetables and cheese.
